2016-2020 Hawaii Statewide Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS)

The Office of Planning is pleased to announce the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA) approval of the 2016-2020 Hawaii Statewide Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS).  The CEDS is a blueprint for economic development throughout the State.  Leo Asuncion, Director, Office of Planning said, “The CEDS has been prepared through extensive stakeholder input and the cooperative efforts of the Economic Development Alliance of Hawaii, Oahu Economic Development Board, Kauai Economic Development Board, Maui Economic Development Board, Hawaii Island Economic Development Board and the Office of Planning”.

Included in this document are the State CEDS, which covers broad themes that cut across the Hawaiian Islands, and the CEDS from each of the State’s four counties: Hawaii County, Kauai County, Maui County and the City and County of Honolulu (Oahu).  This document will be kept on file in the EDA Honolulu Field Office and the EDA Seattle Regional Office and will be current through December 31, 2020.  The CEDS must be updated every five years in order to qualify for Public Works and Economic Adjustment Assistance programs through EDA.  To view the 2016-2020 Hawaii CEDS, please click here or on the link in the sidebar to the right.
